“Thank you so much. You are very kind”
“Thank you all so much. I cannot thank you enough”
“We need more spaces like this, I came here as a child, and still, you are here for me”
Selina was always an introvert who struggled to connect with others. She had a tough upbringing and carried the trauma of growing up in a household alongside class-A drug users.
Selina’s mum sent her to the FCD Youth Club to make friends and come out of her shell. It was here that her love for creativity and art, alongside 1 to 1 sessions with FCP staff, gave her the confidence she needed.
Today, Selina mixes well with young people and has a good friendship group with whom she regularly plays. She still does art and has come a long way from being the quiet, shy young girl who crept into the hall on her first visit.
“Thank you so much. You are very kind”, – Selina.
“I enjoyed the art exhibition because I got to show my art to everyone” – Selina
“Thank you all so much. I cannot thank you enough. Selina is so happy when she comes here.” – Sarah
“I just want her to know she is brilliant and she does belong. In spaces like this is where she belongs” – Sarah.
“We need more spaces like this, I came here as a child, and still, you are here for me” – Sarah.
