This summer will see the launch of a beginner’s course in Olympic Fencing from Docklands Youth Centre. This is the chance to learn a new and exciting Olympic sport is on offer to students of all ages.
Students will be given the opportunity to learn the discipline of the sword and will get the chance to learn the techniques of the Sabre from one of Bristol’s best teachers.
The safety equipment and the swords will be provided by the British Fencing Association.
For anyone with the interest in getting into films the skill of fencing for men or for women is highly prized and could be the difference when looking for that first screen role.
When and where will it take place?
– It takes place on Wednesdays between 4.30pm and 6pm from the 1st of June 2016 at Docklands Youth Centre, Brigstocke Road, St Paul’s, Bristol, BS2 8UA
What should I wear?
– Loose fitting clothing, trainers and not high heels. Please also bring your own non alcoholic drinks – its liable to get quite hot.
Is it just for boys and men?
– Not at all. Girls and women have a chance to get to the programme as well and their sessions starts at Docklands on Thursday August 6th.
Is there a fee to join?
£1.50 for under 18s
£3.00 per session for over 18s
