International Youth Day is celebrated today, August 12th 2014.
The day highlights youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrates the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.
This year, the theme is “Youth and Mental Health” under the slogan ‘Mental Health Matters’.
Thematic discussions and campaigns (online and offline) have been taking place across the world to encourage the general public to better be aware of the needs of the youth and to help young people into the decision-making process.
The UN website is full of information and resources on the subject.
Here is also a map of worldly events.
Feel free to let us know what are your thoughts on the subject.
Do you think young people are given enough tools to contribute? Is mental health still a stigma in society?
