St Pauls Carnival now recruiting!

St Pauls Carnival are seeking people to become involved in this years activities. If you are interested in any of the following roles please contact the Carnival Office directly:

To assist the board of trustees in the planning and successful delivery of this year’s Carnival, we looking to fill the following paid and voluntary positions.

Freelance Administrator
Full time: 30 Hours per week from 1st March to end July 2013
Salary: £5k fixed fee

Based in the carnival office in Bristol reporting to the General Manager and board of trustees, you will be responsible for the effective running of the Carnival office, with a broad ranging and active remit to support the event itself.

The post holder will ideally be energetic, diplomatic and self-motivated, with an interest in Carnival/events and have experience of working in the voluntary sector. You will need to have strong administrative, team working and communication skills and be willing to muck in at all levels.

Stages Co-ordinator
Voluntary Role
10-15 hours p/w

Working from the Carnival office and home we are looking for somebody with experience of programming music or other arts events and knowledge of the local music scene, particularly music of African/Caribbean origin. You will be responsible for the programming of the two stages on carnival day ensuring a good selection of acts and assisting with the organisation of fundraising and fringe events.

Masquerade Co-ordinator
Voluntary Role
10-15 hours p/w

Working from the Carnival office and home, we are looking for somebody with experience in Carnival arts to organise the masquerade, this is the showcase of the Carnival and featured over 1,000 participants in 2011. This post requires strong communication and co-ordination skills. You will be required to liaise with local schools and visiting mas groups to ensure there is good interpretation of the theme and that all information regarding their participation on the day is distributed in good time.

Volunteer Co-ordinator
Voluntary Role
10-15 hours p/w

We are looking for somebody or possibly a group of people to take on this important role, you will be responsible for the recruitment and placing of volunteers in key areas on carnival day as well as for fundraising and fringe events, you will need to ensure good records are kept and that volunteers are kept informed and valued and their skills utilised effectively.
